Nashville Tennessee

We have been married 25 years!! Can anyone believe that?? To celebrate we took a trip to Nashville Tennessee, just the two of us! Matt basically planned the whole trip........Matt knew the Dove awards has always been something I would love to go to, so he planned everything. Here are the highlights of our trip

We arrived in Nashville on April 22nd and that night we had reservations for riverboat cruise up and down the Cumberland River. It included a fancy dinner and a country music show. I am not a big fan of country music but, it was very fun.

Thursday morning we headed to downtown Nashville and acted like tourists and saw all the important sights. Like The Country Music Hall of Fame, The Ryman, The Capital Mall area....We had lunch at a fun BBQ place called Jacks Bar-B-Que. So Yummy!

That night we attended the Gospel Music Awards, "The Doves", at the Grand Ole Opry. For me this was the highlight of the trip!! The pre-show started at 4pm and the live televised show was from 7-9pm.The whole night was incredible!!

Friday morning we started early and toured the plantation home of President Andrew Jackson. After that we drove to Franklin and had lunch at a really good Latin/Mexican restaurant. There is so much Civil War history in Tennessee so we decided to take at self guided driven tour and learned about the Battle of Franklin. The headquarters for Shoahannah's Hope is also in Franklin, and since we were so close we dropped in for a visit. That night we experienced the downtown Nashville nightlife. But it didn't take us long to have enough of the noise, the people and the loud country music. We heard country music playing everywhere we went....in Opryland it is coming out of the "fake" rocks. Even the bad acts in Nashville are very good because there is so much competition.

Our final day was spent seeing a few more sights including the Opryland hotel and Mall and buying souvenirs for our kids. We had a great time on our entire trip. The weather was perfect, everything was so green the trees and flowers were blooming everywhere. I am sure we will have a great time when we go back next year for the Doves ;) Thank You to my husband for a great memories!!
