Lunar New Year Celebration #2
Last weekend we had a wonderful time traveling out of town to celebrate Lunar New Year with another group of Families with Children From Asia. They had graciously invited our local group to join them for the child centered celebration!! (Well actually I had begged them to let us join them) There were crafts, a children's dragon parade and dinner. It was so much fun to get to meet so many families that have adopted children from Asia and see all their adorable children. Of course everyone flocked to the youngest babies wanting to know how long they had been home, where they were from, how old they were etc. Meigan was a very popular girl :) I think the kids enjoy seeing other families that are are similar to theirs. We will continue to take part in any celebration that brings the Chinese culture into our lives, as long as Mady is good with it. It is a part of who she is, and what our family has become. Our whole family was able to join us which made it even more fun. (Sorry no photo of Chris. He had to go to work, but he was there) Two families from our FCC group came with us, but next year we hope even more will attend....Melanie ;)
