Sometimes God is just so much fun! After getting back from Vietnam there was a meeting/fellowship planned for the group. It was planned before they actually left for Vietnam. So imagine our surprise when the founder of Mission Vietnam, Dave Roever, was in town! He called the leaders of the group just two hours before we were scheduled to meet and said he was passing through and wondered if he could stop by and say Hello. What a joy it was to listen to his stories of how this all started and the ongoing work in Vietnam and have him thank this group for their effort and commitment to GO... We had a great couple hours with him before he get back on the rode to travel to speak in a church the following day.
Dave Roever is a Vietnam war vet and has an incredible love for the Vietnamese people. He said his goal is to see 59,000 Vietnamese come to know Christ as their personal savior. That is the same number of Americans killed in the Vietnam war. Somehow this would bring some justification for the loss of their lives. Dave was wounded in the war and is a walking miracle. If you ever have the chance to hear him speak, go, you wouldn't be disappointed.
