We thought we were going to prepare an orphanage and take care of orphaned children for 2 and a half weeks. We ended up flying to the Dominican Republic for 4 days. And during that time making a quick trip into Santo Domingo and stopping by the American Embassy ;) We have much to tell and hopefully someday we will be able to share more with all of you. It was definitely an emotional roller coaster. We continue to pray for the release of Laura as we wait on God's perfect timing. We had the privilege of being part of something much bigger than we ever expected. We would do it again if God should ask. Thanks to everyone who made it possible for us to go. Though you may feel your involvement was small, God used each of you to carry out His will. May He receive all the Glory.
We arrived in the DR but our ride into town had forgotten us.
John and Matt at the Atlantic Ocean.
The Orphange building. An old hotel.
Another view.
On our way over to Santo Domingo we bought fresh cashews from a street vendor.
Our glimpse of the Caribbean.
The view from our room.
Some of our new friends from Texas.
The orphanage grounds.
The Laundry room.
The soccer field.
The child safe swimming pool.
Supplies
Ready to bathe some babies.
All we need are some children.
The Texans head home.
As we wait.
The ladies who cooked for us with John.
Ride to the airport.
Praying for tickets home.
Farewell Dominican Republic....For now.
